PM Statement at 1.30

It's been about 40 days since people were posting on here that we couldn't judge her because she wasn't in office yet and just to give her a chance.
 
I fully expect she's gone, if she can find her way to the podium.
The worst and shortest lasting PM in history.
 
What a shambles.

I assume a replacement would be chosen from sitting MPs over the next few days.

So people believe in giving people a fair chance - what's wrong with that?

Fact is, she made a catastrophic misjudgement around the fiscal situation in the country and will probably pay the price.

Let's hope it's something approaching a unity candidate - although I'm not sure one can exist in the current state of the Conservatives.

Ironically, the only one with an electoral mandate is Boris Johnson MP.

It was ridiculous to suggest that we couldn't have opinions and judgements on a politician who has been in government for 12 years, a member of the cabinet, and who had ran a campaign telling the country this is what she was going to do. I knew she was rubbish, I knew she was dangerous, and so did many, many others. It was obvious, albeit not to this extent.
 
Another leadership election in the next week. She is staying on until the successor is "elected" - utter shambles !!
 
Has absolutely nothing to do with Liss Truss, it's the absolute snakes in the background. Cretins, time to see what Labour can deliver. General election please.

It's infuriating that whilst childish MP's and the pathetic media play war games, our country is in a state, an embarrassment on the world stage and our people are suffering.

Self-serving bunch of absolute wankers. I can't say labour MPs are substantially different.
 
She's been awful. An absolute disaster. And to top it all, she's even made Starmer and Labour look electable.
That really does take some doing.
 
Oh good. Another internal election within the Tory Party. I can't wait.

I'm struggling to understand why it's media's fault. The media are always cunts. Always have been, always will be. What seems to me to have happened is the Tories had a civil war over Brexit and booted out a load of the experience and then won a load of seats in working class seats where the interests of those MPs run directly counter to the interests of traditional Tory seats (i.e. what people in Blythe want is somewhat different to what people in Uxbridge want) and thus, they're stuck with a load of inexperience and no sense of direction and are therefore stuck in a terminal cycle of infighting.

I've reached that conclusion without really reading a lot of the papers and not watching the news very often.

I eagerly await another round of them going 'Now, we'll get on with delivering' before the next round of infighting.
 
Even ahead of my very short term prediction on a Truss PMship. I thought November she would be forced out and GE in January. but the reasons were entirely predictable. A set of radical policies designed by the truss backers ERG and the Tufton lot. Tank the economy and screw over traditional Tory voters.

Im wondering what soundbites they can possibly come up with for either a GE or just an internal selection. get it done, low tax high growth; keep em out,
 
Another leadership contest will be a huge slap in the face for the general public - we’ve just had one where the ‘winner’ is ousted in record time while the first candidate to be eliminated has ended up as defacto PM! What a farce.
GE now please.

I’ve seen more of the front door in 10 Downing Street than my own front door the last few weeks.
I think the news/media camera’s must all have a permanent fixture by now.

Before reality kicks in and we realise that Rishi is going to string out the next 2+ years until the GE.

Wait for the next contest. Braverman will be back in the race; Hunt, Sunak(?), Baker, Mordaunt...? The Tories are spit from top to bottom. Getting unity from that lot will be like herding cats.

So Truss herself wasn’t a snake then. Hanging Kwasi out to dry in what is now shown to be a futile attempt to save her own skin.
