Ouch

It has clearly taken some time for the T&T system to get going, which seems evident from the increasing success in contacting infected individuals and accessing their close contacts.

BTW I'm not saying that this is the answer, just that it isn't as straightforward as it might seem. There's a lot happening all at the same time right now and so establishing the cause / reason isn't straightforward.
They contacted 4253 people in 1st week of T&T and 3439 people last week (week 9) so I am struggling to see how the increase in cases last few weeks is due to improved T&T.

As far as I'm aware the policy on testing has developed over the period and so now we testing is available and individuals are being encouraged to get tested, rather than simply isolate. It's the same on the C19 App, where they are now encouraging individuals with a whole range of symptoms to get tested in order to increase the understanding of the disease.

As I mentioned earlier the T&T process then ensures that individuals are being tested at the right time, rather than that little bit too late, where the potential for a false negatives increases exponentially.

950 test positive today, put a positive spin on that BFCx3. Or keep on burying your head.

How about the 7 day average for deaths has reached the lowest point since lockdown measures were imposed?

Or maybe.. Despite the significant relaxation of the lock-down measures and increases in testing the average daily cases remains at a similar level to what it was in early July and the data from the C19 app, which interacts with a massive sample of the British public suggests that infection levels are dropping.

As I've said to you before, it's not about burying your head it's simply retaining a sense of balance and perspective instead of getting all hysterical / irrational.

How about hospital admissions rising day on day. Explain that away?

In fact no don’t bother, you are really boring me.

I'm boring you... Oh I'm awfully sorry..... Do forgive me M'Lud🙄

The hospital admissions were going down last time on the data I've seen...

There’s been a lot of fatalities to get the hospitalisations and weekly deaths to this level. If it hangs around to winter then there will be a lot more. After the huge effort we ought to be crushing it, not seeing cases going up again.

exactly so does that not tell you something? The huge efforts we all made had absolutely no effect whatsoever.

Mistake opening pub and restaurants. A few more weeks of huge effort and we would probably be looking better now I think.
