As no fans to give him grief currently would this be the chance for him to shine? I certainly think it would be a great opportunity

Or do you think his time is done? Love him to come good but no idea what is wrong, is he actually fit as seems to have disappeared. Even his Northampton move was doomed.

So another chance or is his time done in the mighty tangerine?

Think his time is done at BFC, but wish him the best of luck as no doubt it has been a tough year for him.

Given the transfer rumours this morning, it looks like we're in for a proven goalscorer, which is what we need over someone coming back into the mix trying to find form.

Suffered a serious injury didn’t he at Northampton and expected to be out for a while?

For what it’s worth I’d rather see Nuttall given another chance over Hardie if we are having that discussion but if both are moved on at the end of the season I wouldn’t lose any sleep.

He did receive some grief but I think there was also a big portion of the fanbase really wanting him to succeed. At Fleetwood away I remember him receiving an extremely warm welcome when he was warming up on the sideline and when he came on he was met with a huge roar.

I personally don't think he was up to it in this league, whether that is down to his ability or mental demons that have been alluded to. Combine that with how the transfer itself absolutely stinks with Dunn being his agent and after we signed him Dunn became our assistant manger, it is probably best for both parties if he starts somewhere else with a clean slate.

Yes, i would give him another chance. What have we got to lose.

Time and squad salary cap?

And I say this as someone who wanted him to shine and didn't give him grief. I just think we have a handful of players already that aren't firing on all cylinders and any tinkering in Jan needs to be effective if we want to make a proper go at it in the second half of the season.

One other point: as seen with the Gnanduillet comments, I get the impression Critch has always wanted a clean break and his own squad. I don't think a slightly spurious Dunn-recommended signing, as @TangerinePeel says, fits in with his vision.

If you look at what we need at the moment and if you saw this lad play then you’ll know he’s not what we need. No room for sentiment in football or we’d still be paying Chris Malkin!

Needs to fall in love with the game again. Northampton was a strange move, being that he seems to be north west based. A loan to a team where he’d start and could score a few could do him the world of good- afc Fylde maybe?

Is his Northampton move actually over? Last I read Keith Curle was talking as if he expected him back after treatment at his parent club.

I always though he lacked commitment when on the pitch? If you watch Yates, it’s one thing to criticise his lack of scoring and missing of opportunities- but one thing is for sure, Yates is full of commitment.
His work rate and effort is there for all to see. He always gives everything he has and is dead on his feet when he walks off the pitch. He runs channels, hunts defenders down, chases lost causes and fights for every header and tackle. It has rubbed off on Madine as his work rate has certainly upped since the start of the season.

Nuttall always looked like he didn’t fancy doing the dirty stuff. That commitment that you need just seems lacking and it was this that let him down, not the talent or ability.
Confidence is one thing, but give the commitment first.

Again that’s why he’s not going to be a Prem star until he realises it.
Even limited players like Barnes and Wood at Burnley put a serious shift in.
Brett was renowned for it and Vardy is the example to hold up to all.

No fans on the ground but plenty on here to give him grief.

Apparently Maxwell's too small and can't save penalties
Turton shouldn't be allowed anywhere near a football pitch
Husband's a liability giving fouls away and getting sent off
Ward doesn't do enough in midfield
They don't know why Robson and Sarkic were bought
Bez hasn't got enough about him
Kaikai drifts in and out of games too much, not enough effort and Yates runs round like a headless chicken with no end product.

If Nuttall did come back to Bloomfield road I hope to god he doesn't read AVFTT, if his confidence isn't shot to shit enough he'd be a total basket case after!!

Whatever he does I wish him well👍🏻

Coach Critch said he is effectively a Northampton player for this season,if he gets over his injury and any other problems, he goes back to them. I just can't see him turning out in Tangerine again.

I don't agree with all of the above but as football fans, on a Blackpool forum, are we not all entitled to express our opinions?

Apparently not, unless you agree with everything the club and management do you are not welcome here. I don’t know whatever happened to the old adage, you pays your money, you takes your choice. On here you have to pay your money and keep shtum.

@Wizzerboy - Even Nutall will know he's been poor for us and if he was to come on here I don't think he'd have much grievance, It's been a transfer that didn't work and that happens in football, doesn't mean anyone wishes the boy any ill will.

I’m still one of the “we are going up as Champions” crew!
An almost newly acquired squad in the summer that’ll take time to blend. The potential is there as we saw on our run of 10 in 12
If we get that going again, this will be our year

Think again you’ve both over played this.
Challenging decisions and questioning is fine but going to the extreme of everything is wrong, recruitment is terrible, all the players are league 2 quality and sack the manager after 10 games is just - well just extremist over reaction.
Like watching a child throw it’s toys out.

Then add to it a total lack of pleasure when we get it right......

You need to learn to accept another person's point of view. It's been a very ordinary season so far, punctuated with a few good performances and results. I will give my take on games whether you and others like it or not. Have a nice evening.

Wizz, if the Maxwell comment is aimed at the match thread: I mentioned his height was a slight worry/disadvantage heading into the shoot out, and hoped that he duly proved me wrong (which he did). At no point did I say he was too small or couldn't save penalties.

I've also remained positive throughout the whole season, even after the bad start. Any criticism from me never oversteps the line into abuse (or gets anywhere near it) and I've always been realistic that we are a work in progress. It's a message board, however, so there's always going honest opinion - you just have to filter out the hyperbolic stuff (i.e. people saying players of ours are non-league).

Just thought I'd mention that, in case it was being conflated with grief as your post potentially makes out 👍

Personally I’ve never asked for or advocated sacking Critchley, some of the players I have criticised and deservedly so. Some posters give extreme reactions, on both sides. I like to think I am a middle of the road man who can give criticism and praise in equal measure. But certain ones on here seem to think unless you are praising good play or rubbish with equal enthusiasm you are an idiot. As I said on my previous post I pay my money like anyone else and as long as my reactions are fair and not insulting in any way I think I am entitled to post them.🙂

To be honest with you. I've not seen a single bit of abuse yet. I've seen flippant comments filled with emotion during games.

I've been on here, twitter and discord during games and not seen a single abuse. What I have seen, are Blackpool fans acting incredibly soft.

As Sadler said in his xmas message, football is a game of emotions. Of course I agree and we have all let those be felt on a game - but I think calling a player shit, repeatedly, on social media, as well as non-league or that they should be shipped off after a couple of games, for example, is a bit far (all of which I have seen). It's obviously something that the players are feeling/experiencing, as Sadler deemed it enough to mention after only - what - 19 games in.

I think social media can really exacerbate things tbf. As Sadler said, a lot of players follow BFC social media and it can seem a minority of folk who spend too much time in front of screens can feel like a bigger presence when things aren't going our way.

Maybe we differentiate on things that overstep the mark if you haven't seen a single bit of abuse. I'm not saying heinous it's stuff, just going a bit far. If you think that's acting incredibly soft, when it stems from a want of getting behind Sadler/the players, then I reckon I can live with that.

I just think people need an outlet, that current outlet has vanished. If Turton or Nuttall or Southern for example, stood in the stands and heard what people said about them, they'd struggle and call that abuse also. I've heard some shite at football over the years. Even stuff like at Cheltenham away when Southern scored with his left foot, almost to a man everyone wanted him to pass it. None of us expected that to go in.

My point is, those emotional comments that are said every second at football matches spread across 7000 odd home fans. Is now done on twitter, avftt and discord. It's the norm at the moment.

And I don't think I've seen a single bit of individual directed abuse. I've got real concerns about Ollie Turton and his ability at right back. I wouldn't dare tag him in it, I've used statistics and reasoning as to why I think we need better. It's what forums and social media is about. I think the comment from Simon Sadler is whatever, I took zero notice of it.

thefutureistangerine

Mate, of course, @SeasideKurt, your thoughts on Turton and reasoning is par for the course and I agree that's what this board/social media is for. Definitely not that kind of discussion I was aiming at.

And I agree on all points about the state of play at the moment (trust me, would rather be simmering down over a post-match pint in the Bloomfield than be on here) - just more of the opinion that occasionally a line can be overstepped. We prob differ on that slightly if you haven't seen an example of that 👍
