My son said "it's a waste of money daddy as the referee decides who wins"

He's totally right but we didn't help ourselves. There's so much right and wrong about this Blackpool team.

My lad decided early on that the best policy is to simply decide from before the kick ff that we are definitely going to lose. Safest option.

He watched first half with me and then when I told him we'd lost, he just went 'what?! - typical...' - he's 9.

I'm sort of very proud of that and slightly sad that I've inflicted that outlook on him.

‘Despair now to avoid disappointment later’.

It always used to work for me, but in the end a got fed up of being called a miserable sod.

Just reassure them that, as Blackpool fans, they'll probably experience more downs than ups but that the ups will be brilliant.

Tell them not to worry, there'll be lots more bad decisions during their next few years. 🙄
Also many more bad results.

Regardless of how many downs there are, when the ups come along they're worth it.

Some of the best days of my life have been watching Blackpool. No shadow of a doubt.
Yes Wizaard I couldn’t agree more, yes watching the Pool over the years we have experienced ups and downs but the one constant is our love for Blackpool.
And do you know I wouldn't change a thing.

Just tell them life is pain and it only gets worse.
