Lightning strikes boy

This is truly heartbreaking and I can not even imagine what his family, friends and those training at the time are going through.

My sincere condolences to the young boys family & friends and all involved tonight, truly truly heartbreaking and words can not display how upset I am reading this & can not begin to think how those close to the boy are feeling.
 
Absolutely devastating news. Just 8 years old. Renders everything else meaningless and simply beyond comprehension. RIP
 
This is tragic news that’s really got to me.

That poor lad and his parents. Rest in peace young lad. Tragic

Having two young kids myself I couldn’t imagine that pain.

You only get one spin at all this, hold your family close and tell them you love them.

If there’s any kind of initiative for the family just giving or something and anyone local gets wind, pop it on here I’d like to do something.
 
Horrible news

Remember when I was on my Duke of Edinburgh course in Lake District and was knocked off the ground and landed several feet away. I thought I was a goner. When I came to my senses realised a bolt of lightening and hit a barbed wire fence next to me.
Dont think I ever been so scared but I was very lucky. That was 53 years ago.

I was on the beach a little down the coast at Formby and it came up from the South really quickly. It was pretty frightening and quite surreal. Tragic as it moved up to Blackpool with such an awful outcome
 
Christ, this is awful news. Sometimes you think you’ve had the day from hell and something like this reminds you that others are far worse off. Sincere condolences to his family. RIP
 
Sad news. Heartbroken for his family. Was out walking dog near N Shore golf club. Two strikes came from nowhere. Broke my PB on way home.

A quick moving build up of weather that passed directly overhead rather than just offshore. Saw it approaching and hoped nobody would get caught up in it. Bloody hell.

To suddenly have your child taken away in an instant like that.... as you say you can’t even comprehend it
 
I've taken my kids years ago & the grandkids more recently football training down there & got a real soaking last time a couple of years ago. But you don't expect not to get them back. This is such terrible sad news & his family must be totally devastated & in complete shock. Words fail me. RIP
