KYLE JOSEPH OR JERRY YATES

Yates has great energy and nice ball skills. Where he has been lacking so far is that killer instinct (ruthless finishing, position in the box, goal scoring runs). This definitely can be coached.
Some players seem to have this naturally (Vardy, Fowler etc) others have to learn it (Sterling, Ronaldo). His attitude is spot on which makes me feel he can be coached into a very good attacker - it’s those who lack the right attitude that it’s hard to change .
Yates for me as we don’t know Joseph - but maybe we will just have both 😁👍

Yates is improving although still has plenty of room for growth. His work rate is beyond question and he does have quick feet. He just needs to be more consistent, for large parts on Tuesday he was anonymous but came into his own as the game progressed. He does seem to have formed a good understanding with Madine and always linked well with Anderson. I know very little about Joseph other than the game against us and goal highlights. He clearly has ability and a bright future but also has a long way to go before he's the finished article.

I think Yates is such a good signing, especially hilarious considering Rotheram fans were claiming they'd absolutely robbed us by the fact they'd even got a fee.

I could see Yates improving to the extent he'll be a Championship level striker, he is only 24 and definitely has potential to improve vastly. Kyle Joseph however has just turned 19 a few months ago, the fact he is already cutting it at this level suggest he could go on to be something special but potential is a funny thing (as we saw with Tom Ince).

But Yates is already ours, he is the sort of player that is really easy to like - gets goals and works his arse off for every minute he's on the pitch. One of my favourite (if not favourite) current Blackpool player, you could tell he had something even when the goals weren't coming. So glad he's finally got out the rut and is now bagging them in, double figures at the halfway point - lets get it into the 20s by the end Jerry lad!

Great assessment of him.⚽👍

No idea about Joseph but Yates is improving. He still loses the ball too regularly by hanging onto it too long & it doesn’t seem to stick to him anything like Madine. I only said the other night that he can’t dribble. But I was proved wrong with that with the quick feet & subsequent wonder goal on Tuesday night. There are elements of his game that need to improve or maybe that’s what you get with him. His work rate is unquestionable & if he can continue to improve on a few things then he will be an even bigger asset for us than he already is. We also need to play to his strengths on a more regular basis. I do however like him. 👍

Yates will improve game by game for the next 18 months and become a legend if we can keep him, reminds me of a young Billy Sharp

This.👍
Keep banging ’em in Jerry, Two or twenty yards, you decide.❤️🤘✌️

Joseph is obviously a fair bit younger, so still room for development. Although he was anonymous for large parts of the match.
Even when Yates isn’t in the scoresheet he creates chances and space for others through his sheer enthusiasm. I reckon if we were all back at Bloomfield Road, he would be a firm fan favourite by now.

Is he not already 👍

In Yates we have that 20+ goal a season striker that every successful team needs.
The fact that he is already at that level despite having existing flaws in his game whilst also playing in an as yet not settled team bodes well for the future.
Another very good signing with tonnes of potential who was written off far too early because he needed a few games to find his groove.
