If the board are happy to stay in L1

Then Critch is probably the right man for the job as I am still fairly confident we can avoid relegation
I have yet to see the attacking football he promised us on a regular basis.
His backroom staff should be sacked, as they were when he left us, as defensively we are a joke, midfield is too indisciplined to control any game, and if Dembele does not play we are not creating much.
I cannot see Critch leaving any time soon so his no2 cannot be allowed to be a yes man

I don’t think happy is the word. Content for it to take time before we mount a challenge is my assessment. We won’t go down, it’s possible he takes us up through that playoffs but the finances are comfortable at this level and with a squad like this. Sadler is biding his time with someone he can just let coach away without it being a true disaster.

I feel that the squad, bar a handful of players, is extremely weak. Even if we did go up we would be coming straight back down. The balance may take time to get right. I'd settle to stay in League 1 as long as the squad slowly improves.

Tell us who the (bar the extremely weak) 'handful of players' are? I'm expecting 5 so really interested...

The board are happy. SS can’t fund a championship club. That was blatantly obvious last season.

That's opinion not fact. He wasted a lot of money last year and was inept causing us to be relegated. I think he'd be happy bouncing between the championship and the premier league as would most chairmen of clubs our size. If he's happy being in the old division three he's wasting his time and he doesn't strike me as someone who doesn't value his time.

I'll give you 7.

Grimshaw
Husband
Gabriel
Pennington
Norburn
Dembele
Dougal

If all fit easily Championship level regularly.
Completely agree…..not sure Grimshaw is Championship level though….however, bottom line is, ”the squad” is nowhere near good enough.

I think the fact that we couldn’t agree a fee for Owen Moxon but signed Tashan Oakley-Boothe tells you all you need to know on our ambition 💪🏽
Oh! I assumed he was a youth team player getting some game time. Yeah, he's looked out of his depth from what i've seen.

The problem for me is next season if we carry on with the way we’re playing. Can’t say I’d be at the front of the renewal queue.

TV money very poor compared to championship and the club costs significantly more to run than under Oyston.

This is an issue for sure. I feel, albeit from afar, that if we don’t improve the spectacle or go up this season then interest will start to wain. The ambition must surely be for Blackpool to get into the the division above at all times otherwise what’s the point?

Have to disagree Mac, I think we have one of the best squads in League 1. Just not yet playing to it but there’s time yet with a few good players coming back from injury

so ifts the play offs . then so be it. how many times have we been there done it and got the t.shirt. uncle simon wpuld glady see us back in the CHAMPIONSSHIP. WAY more money than league one.

He would have been everyone's choice back when the interim Board were in situ'. A real fan, committed to the Club to replace the self-serving Oystons. I didn't hear anyone or read any AVFTT comments qualifying Sadler's ownership with the condition that he must be able to fund a successful Championship side or the fans won't be interested.

I disagree. The full squad ...in depth is ( in my opinion of course ) substantially better than last year

Of course they aren't, but instant success is a rare thing indeed. Plans take time to work and our best bet is allowing it time to play out, even if it takes 2 or 3 years.

So come on tangysider, we sack Critchley when we are doing good in the league without playing too well. The next manager loses 5 out of his first 10 games, shall we sack him too?

Try and grow some brain cells.

Most believe the squad is good enough for promotion, in 2 or 3 years a lot will not be around, and Critchley has not promoted anyone from youth set up so we are building new squads from scratch again.
His hand picked backroom staff are yes men who never question him, and he is too stubborn to believe he is a big part of the problem when we are dropping points.
He blames the players, not openly but infers they are falling short of the standards expected, with statements like we are not playing the Blackpool way. . Apart from that everything is rosy
