Hull City v Blackpool Official Matchday Thread 16.01.21

We have not got a hope in hell today, as I have just placed a £10 bet on a Blackpool win.

Bet 365 offering 4.0

Sorry in advance.

We should have brought in one or two new faces already if we are serious about challenging this season...we are entering a crucial period and if we lose today we are really on the back foot

Because I dont fancy Turton and Husband together in the defence and I think overall there is a lack of pace in that back 4 but we shall see...I love being wrong
Turton and Husband as the two backs give us more solidity rather than Gabriel and Garbutt.
Think Critch has set his stall out for a draw today and personally I'd take that👍🏻

I dont but I think the sooner the better as we play virtually every tuesday saturday now
You could be looking to get a new car to get to work as the one you have isnt reliable.
You could be on the phone trying to get a newer one every day but if the deal isnt good for both parties you're not getting your car are you?

Like I say, I'm sure they're trying

Critchley has chosen Turton and Husband as a safer option to start. If we neutralise the the onslaught of vengeance from Hull, we'll stand a chance of sneaking a win by introducing Gabriel or Garbutt.

In many years of watching the Pool, managers always play safer than me, and are more happy to get draws than me, (except for Ollie, of course! 😄 )

I reckon the youth will start to feature when weather improves. It would be strange indeed with all the academy spend and personnel if we did not utilise them. Critch has had time to assess them and given a few pro contracts.
As we currently cannot see these players all we have to work on is results to see progress. Also young players at other academies are bound to be attracted to those clubs where there is regular progression from youth to first team.

Like the line-up but I do think that Gretarsson is an important player, for me he starts before Ballard if both are fit
KaiKai, for all his detractors on here, is the most naturally talented player we have, if he was more consistent he would feature at a higher level. Thought he did well enough last week when he came on.

I think that's a decent team and I'm really glad Bez has got another start, he will continue to improve. I hope Kaikai has his head together other than CJ missing, we are pretty much at full strength. I think we will do okay.

I don't remember Kaikai and Lubala together in the starting line-up before. Both are creative players with skills that can turn a game. This game is going to be exciting! 🍊 🍊

When he sets his stall out for a draw, is usually when we let one in and don’t have the wherewithal to get one back and lose. He should stop thinking too much about the opposition and concentrate on what we can do.

So who do you suggest as an attacking option other than Madine and Yates.
As if this goes tits there HAS to be another option.

I'm not saying settling for a draw is the right thing to do, I'm saying in the circumstances it wouldn't be a bad result

Never understand why instead of putting a few passes together its just hoofed after passing back from kick off.

Surely better to keep the ball and work it forward than gift it to their defenders.

I’m happy with the forwards, what I’m saying is we haven’t got an impact player to bring on if needed. And as I said he gets to obsessed with the opposition, play our own game and let them worry about us.

We need to shoot when we have the ball in a good area, give them something to worry about. They can just sit back knowing we are gonna try and pass the ball into the net, have a shot ffs.
