Haz and Megs’ problem goes nuclear.

That’s as may be. But they are “celebrity influencers” now and their eco-psycho-emo ramblings will be pushed down our throats forevermore by their PR people. They are grade A gossip fodder for tabloid sales and TV ratings too. They will never be out of the news, but will get less fashionable as they age. However, I expect Harry to implode/explode sooner or later, sad to say. It will be interesting to see if he comes back for his Mum’s statue unveiling in June on what would have been her 60th birthday.
Surely we’ll never hear from them again, they left to get away from publicity and live a quite life.

Blood, my DNA says I've got about 15% Irish blood.
God knows where from.
I've done a lot of family history and have yet to find an Irish relation.
That's going back to 1802, and a bit further.
Far more Yorkshire, N. East and Cornwall blood in me.
No Lancastrian unfortunately. 🙄
Forgot to say that I also have Scandinavian blood DNA in me. 😟

I think I saw some ridiculous article (it must have been written by an American as only they could be so stupid) stating that Biden was something like 18.75 percent Irish. How about he's not Irish at all not 18.75%, Not 1% ... Just 0%
I did hear somewhere (it may not be true) that when DNA was analysed there was no significant differences in DNA between average British and average Celtic (i.e. Irish, Welsh, Scots, Cornish etc). This means that there are no significant 'racial' characteristics that differentiate between British and Irish people. This is not surprising when you consider that about a third of English people are descended, at least partially from Irish people, however not too many of them claim Irish heritage in the same way that people from the USA do. It's an interesting area and I guess that most people define themselves as being in the group that they want to be in, the truth often being a bit more mundane.

Irish is a nationality and not a race in any case, so the idea that you could ever be half Irish (unless perhaps you were born somewhere in the middle of the Irish Sea, with one leg in English Territory & the Other in Irish) is all a bit ridiculous 😀

You may have an Irish parent, but that doesn't make you half Irish, it just means one of your parents is Irish... There is no consistent Irish 'race', much like the rest of us, they are a mix of all manner of different peoples, ranging from dark haired / dark skinned folk who perhaps have similar heritage to Spanish to fair skinned red headed 'Pict' types, with a bit of Germanic, Dane etc.. all thrown in...

I think with Americans, it has a lot to do with them being a relatively new country, with fairly limited culture. So perhaps associating themselves with a much older and historically interesting culture gives them a sense of belonging / foundation.
