Glass Half full or half empty?

Overall I don't think it is that bad.
Its the manner of some of those loses and draws that leaves a bad taste in the mouth for some.

Never know, this could be our bad half of the season

I’m never quite sure what it means, if it’s half empty, I still have half to drink, if it’s half full, I still have half to drink.

Makes you a realist, some are pessimists some are optimists.
I'm with you on this one, just deal with the reality, in this case the reality is we are in with a good shout of 6th place and we're through to the next round of the cup. I'd call that a quite good start to the season with room for improvement.

Half full. We'd have given our eye teeth last season for both the results, and the attacking intent shown in some matches, al;beit not for a whole match. We have a couple of good players brought in in Rhodes and Dembele, some of last season's players are playing at a good level again (King Kenny, Lavs, CJ). The future is bright

We're getting to that point where we have to put points on board.
Great we've had some decent performances and stand out players but this is the time you have to fire on all engines.
We have the squad to do it .. the question comes back to have we the manager to do it?

It's alluding to the optimism or pessimism of the drinker. If you see it as half empty you're sad that half of it has gone already. If you see it as half full you are glad that you still have half of the drink left.

I understand the perception, but you still have half left either way, win, win.

Struggled to a 3-2 win over a dreadful Cheltenham
Fleetwood scored 3 past us when they’d only scored 2 at home all season up to that game
Shipped 3 against Derby and 4 against Peterborough at home
1 away win 16 games into the season

Lucky it’s a shite league, cos we’re bang average

Shocking really

I’m hopeful for this season, but I’m not really overly concerned about Promotion. The important thing for me was securing the right manager to put in place firm foundations on which to build long term success.

I was over the moon to see Critchley return and as a result I’m super confident about the future and the direction of travel… It might be slow, but it’s methodical and success is inevitable 👍👍

It depends which way you look at it 😀.
If Dembele plays then it's half full, if he doesn't then half empty. Seriously though it's got to be half full....

Good post - the mess created last season was always going to take longer than a season to sort out and I think actually an immediate return to the Championship might bring more problems than positivity.
