George Roper

Blimey. I thought he’d died ages ago. Pleased to hear he’s still with us as I always liked him. Reminded me of one of my uncles.

This is starting to remind me of the “Toast in London” comedy episodes. Brian Murphy wasn’t in it but there was a running gag when Toast would say he was off to meet someone famous who is dead (Bob Monkhouse say). To which the person he was speaking to would say:

“I thought he was dead?”

And Toast would reply

“Why does everyone think that?”

And then he’d go off and meet them. (Well an impersonator obviously).

Brian Murphy yes his This Is Your Life show is on You Tube. Fit looking wife tbf I think she was in Emmerdale Farm for a while.👍

Loads of old comedies on That’s TV such as Benny Hill and Till Death Us do part .
Quite a few old ones on YouTube. Watched a couple episodes of The Larkins tonight (1958-64)- was only a little kid at the time in '64 so don't remember it.Not very funny tbh surprised it lasted six years.
