It doesn't make good reading for Thorniley both in his distribution and his part in the goal.

It's not just this game where his distribution has been poor, I find he gives the ball away more often than not and it might be the reason he's not so favoured despite the fact he's very good defensively at this level.
 
Liked the article. It also shows for me the mistake of the subs by NC which were too early. A fully fit CJ would have also lessened the Crewe press. Credit to the Crewe manager who spotted immediately the frailties of our CB distribution.
