For my sins I have taking over the running of the Senior Seasiders 50+ Walking Football side.
I am looking to recruit to make us as competitive as we can be so if you fancy representing Blackpool playing against the likes of PNE / Cods / Wigan / Man City then this could be for you.
In order to be eligible for the 50+ competitive side you must be reasonably fit and aged 50-59 ( there are also teams for those over 60/65/70 ). The standard is pretty decent !
We are having a bit of a reorganisation to facilitate both a ' fitness ' session each week where players can run a bit ( called Masters football ) and another session to follow in a couple of weeks that will be strict Walking Football on Thursdays.
To start with the idea is newcomers come down and play in the ' Masters ' session on Monday that is open to anyone over 35 or the WF session on Thursdays ( once the new session starts ) and if from there you want a trial for the competitive side we can sort.
For ' Masters ' think a slightly slower version of 5 aside.
Note there are WF sessions running on Monday and Thursday at 430-530pm that are open to 50+ - these continue.
The 35+ is a friendly / inclusive session of mixed abilities with plenty of AVFTTers down inc Blood / Rox / yours truly / Sydney / St Ives / Tetley / SeasiderPod / Limechase and plenty of others.
Most there fall into the 45-60 age bracket but we sometimes get some 60+ there as well.

Note you can't just turn up - you must book.
Anyone slightly apprehensive I encourage you just to give it a go as it's great to get back into playing. You won't regret it whether you fancy the competitive Walking Football or just a run ( or walk ) out.
