Unfortunately it was the understudy today for some reason. He wasn’t scheduled. He was ok but part of the reason for going was to see MS.

Still. It was very good and quite emotional at the end.

In the past, if it’s a sudden thing, it’s been announced just before the play starts.

There are some plays that are scheduled for him not to appear but Mrs Mex (who booked the tickets) assures me this wasn’t none of them (and I’m certainly not going to question what she says!).

So not sure what the reason was. A bit disappointing but still very good.

The highlight though was when a woman behind me tipped her ice filled drink down the back of my T shirt. At least my surprised reaction didn’t put off the actors.

All our theatre trips are Saturday matinees and it’s not unusual for understudies to be on with the main actors saved for the evening. I would have been gutted if we had missed Michael Sheen though.
