Apter (yes yet again & again) 13/04(todays Goals.)

The happy clappers will tell you "Apter is not ready for League 1 football because world class coach Critchley says so".

He'd be the best player in our squad of duffers yet, and if his agent is worth his salt, will be off in a shot to a club that will appreciate him and play him.

Hell be a star player for us next season mate n critch will surely say this was the plan all along.
It’s worked out right.
If he’d have been recalled n not played much, his development would have gone into reverse.
Now he has to be given a chance in the first 11.

If Apter gets a shot next season it will be marketed as a triumph of player development. Rather than an opportunity missed to take a risk on youth this season.
Yep. Apter could have been the talent we needed for promotion this season. Sending him away is Critchley thinking he's managing Liverpool where they farm them all off. Something not needed between L1 and L2. If you are good in L2 - you are good enough for L1.

I think he'd have helped us this season but I sort of, kind of, if I play devil's advocate, and have a couple of drinks first, and a mild concussion - understand NC thinking he's not going to pick Dembele and Apter together in a side - I'm just looking at the positive that we have a quality young home grown player who has just signed a long contract and looks ready to rip up L1 next year.

You play Apter ahead of Dembele ? If you play them together you have a lot of skill but not any real physical presence which we’ve all seen can be an issue in League 2.

I’ve watched a few Tranmere games this season as mt Nephew and Brother in Law are season ticket holders there - at the start of the season Apter was only effective in short bursts. He’s improved massively and now most Tranmere fans would say he’s their best player. That’s happened due to regular game time of 70+ minutes over 40 games.
He simply wouldn’t have got that here so the loan move was the correct thing to do.

Yep.
And when he's back with us next season, it'll be like signing one of the best young League Two players.
For free.

Check out these lovely scoring & assists stats....

Not sure how, when we're likely to fall short of success by the slim margin of a couple of goals here and there, not giving Apter (a player who scores and creates goals) a minute of League football, even when we could have done so prior to his loan is being argued as factually 'the right decision.'

There are two different arguments here. Whether Apter has gained more experience on loan, or whether we lost an option we needed by sending him out. It's possible both of those are true.

It's absurd to say that we couldn't make use of both Dembele and Apter. Dembele has played too much, and he may also have got injured. There's only room for one small skilful player in a squad if 25? Don't be ridiculous.

And Apter was Tranmere's best player before Xmas. We didn't even give Apter a run out while he was back here in January. Probably scared of everyone wanting him to stay.

When we had Dale, I could see the argument. Once we'd let dale go to the side likely to beat us to the play off spots, I couldn't.

Play them together but replace CJ with Apter no change to physical presence.
Moot point now, think others such as Jack Moore were not far off L1 standard
