In the wake of the foundation of the Northern Independence Party and Covid exposing the North/South divide even further, I think it's time for an all important AVFTT poll.

If we were to have a referendum on Northern independence, how would you vote and why?

Personally I've been in favour of a federation for a while now, but actually think we'd see full independence before Westminster willfully shares power & control properly. The idea does sound ridiculous at the moment, and as can be seen on the social media accounts the NIP are having a laugh with it and appreciate how absurd it may sound, but at it's core the campaign remains deadly serious. It might take years of hard graft, but it's entirely possible.

Do I get a vote?

Definite yes. Just like the Sweaties you’ve been taking the piss and our hard earned readies for too long.

Get rid of the moaning, mithering, Minnie’s in the North so the U.K. can soar to new heights!!!!

This isn’t me by the way. It’s the majority view (9 to 8 but that’s the way democracy works lads) in my Tier 2 local as we drink our pints with substantial 👍👍👍👍 meals.

Cornwall or nothing.
You do realise they are almost Welsh? Very close geographically.

I know I’m talking against myself here but it’s like when you see a small child blundering into the main road. You feel you need to do something. Do you really want Cornwall?

Shit!! We forgot about Wales!!

Any volunteers?

We'll keep Barmouth and up?

Depends where the border is? There’s some questionable brummies I’d be inclined to avoid. 😉

On paper sounds a good concept and one I would certainly take a firm interest in as I feel the north has been shafted many times during this pandemic response.

Yeah it probably does if we rejoined the EU, we need a posh northerner with a good head on his or her shoulders and a decent hart to convince the brexit voters up here that all foreigners are not your enemy!!

Sorry to take this seriously, but to answer the O/P, I have been following the campaign on Twitter for the NIP. What a load of Barmpots, would turn into the people's republic of Northumbria, Corbyn on steroids run by Derek Hatton.

I think the UK needs a Federal approach to nullify the centrist powers of London. Federal assemblies in Wales, Scotland, NI, the North, Midlands and South. Get rid of a layer of councils, assemblies run their Police forces and health services, central taxation with regional spend, and bar anyone from Eton ever seeking high office.

We’d have to grab a few gold bars from the vault and get the bankers onside before we did one I fear 🥴
