7 hours to get through customs

Yet again the UK Government impose rules that the rest are unable to enforce. The UK Border Force just cannot cope.
 
There is always one blame Brexit then back track and say it's down to Covid.

Disgraceful amount of time to wait whoever is at fault good job it's been highlighted now before they start letting us back on our hols abroad.
 
Shouldn't be travelling abroad at the moment so perhaps it's a ploy to deter the few people that are.
Lady was on the radio yesterday explaining how a 45 minute flight from Dusseldorf led to a 7 hour wait at LHR Border Control to get in.
To be fair she took it in very good grace, I'd have gone nuts.

Just on a side note, I see Macron has done a u turn and partially lifted the ban on the Oxford vaccine for older people. In the meantime their vaccination programme is lagging way behind the UK and quite possibly people have died because of this.
All because the jumped up little shit played politics.

Well my monthly update now being March 2021 is as it was last month and the month before that.
I have to report still no food shortages at any supermarket/shop like people on here predicted.
Perhaps it’s coming in April. 😂

So the great benefit of leaving the EU is that there are no food shortages, what a great success.

I will give you that not having anything to do with Macron is one of the tangible benefits, he is one dangerous narcissist.
 
I thought all the Brexit supporters were little racist Englanders who wanted a return to the old Imperialistic days....probably the biggest piece of propaganda used by the remain side. Simply not true and a massive insult to the working class people of this country.

Personally glad I never voted due to lies from both sides - I am on the moral high ground!
 
Can I just say how disgraceful it is having to wait 7hrs at Border control to get into the Uk.
Can I also say how disgraceful it is that our Border Control is so lax that it has allowed people to enter the UK whilst infected with coronavirus and then lost them. 😟

Apparently the delays were down to large numbers of passengers arriving without testing kits and possibly (not clear from reports) without the required negative test.

This is something that the airlines are meant to check before the passengers are allowed to travel.

That will be why he said more than half. Alternatively, less than a third voted for it. If it had been a union ballot under Tory legislation it would be miles short of being accepted.
 
Charles De Gaullee 3.5 hours. Nightmare had luggage taken off plane, which I missed, and took 3 days to retrieve.

I will always fly local out to European/USA hub rather than have to change flights at LHR.
 
We are told to stay at home and not travel out of our local area unless it is essential. So how come people are allowed to travel abroad? (which is thousands of miles out of their local area). It all can’t be essential travel. Doesn’t make sense.

I live in London and would rather walk to places than use LHR - by a mile the worst airport in the world
 
We flew from LHR around 2001 and it was no trouble/problem at all. Very smooth.
However, landed at Newark NJ and this female Customs Officer was so rude I was going to ask to see her boss.
MrsDP wouldn't let me as my cousin was waiting for us.
Ignorant cow. Not my cousin, the Customs Officer. 🤨
I wouldn't have dreamed of being so rude to people in that way.

Woah! Careful, tiger. These US Immigration types (now Homeland Security) are not renowned for their tolerance. Give them any lip and they can refuse you entry to the USA and have you back on a flight to where you came from within an hour. No reason given... just “undesirable”. With your wrists zip-locked to the armrests of the aircraft seat.

At the very least you might expect to be frogmarched away and locked alone in a stuffy, airless, windowless airport room for about four hours just to teach you a lesson. Of course, you should know that risk. 😉
