Saw him play.
He was quite i nice, neat footballer, but very light weight and knocked off the ball easily as I remember.
He did score 1 goal for the 1st team, but only played twice, rest in the Reserves.

Dave....didn't he make his debut in a home game that was abandoned due to fog?

tango, sorry, I can't remember that. He made 2x 1st team appearances. Home v Sheff Wed was the one I saw. We lost 1-3.🙄
He scored his only goal in that one.
Age dims the memory 🙄 .
Your turn will come.😉

DaveP....I should have read the article before posting. It mentions the game at home to Wolves which was abandoned after 9 minutes due to fog.
It was a midweek night game and it was what they called a pea-souper back then.

60 years? A great story although not many will have been born then and maybe one or two only just...

I remember him at Blackpool and also saw him play and as mentioned above he tended to be easily knocked off the ball but I did not realise how well he did in the reserves,so perhaps a shame he wasn`t given an extended trial.
