11 years ago tonight

Its ok destroying his dreams but the keepnet was sprung a few years earlier 😀

60 years of being a Pool supporter and that night is up there! Watched it in the Cresent Pub St Annes. with wife and daughter, sobbing uncontrollably at final whistle ( well nearly)

"Oh what a night"
Even Bleach51 was confident with 5 minutes to go. He was, however berating IH for not substituing CA

A lot warmer that night than today - having to run to the ground after struggling to find anywhere to park didn't help ! Don't think I have ever been any more nervous before any game.

I've never seen that with Chizzy's commentary as an unexpected bonus.

Even 11 years ago, in the pressure cauldron of a playoff semi, The Master managed to seamlessly slot in an all fall down.

I met a couple of Forest fans on holiday about 4-5 years ago. Can't remember how but the conversation turned to attacking play and free scoring teams. Their eyes still had a haunted look when I said think back to what we did to you.

I was at that Forest match towards the corner flag. I was also at Deepdale in 1970 when we got promoted. The Forest match and electric atmosphere was better because we were in a massive opposition crowd and were expected to lose.. What a magnificent performance and match. Best away experience I have had. Holloway could really inspire belief in those players

Yes, watched it in Ambleside being literally the only person in the pub not wanting Forest to win/supporting Blackpool - went absolutely bonkers when the 3rd and 4th went in - the friends I was with weren’t really footie fans but even they caught the excitement of it

I think the manner of the dismemberment will always be so fondly remembered - 2 of their goals were gifts (by Baps) and at least 3 of or 4 goals were absolute football quality

I also bumped into a Scunny fan who’d seen us do the same to them and he’s still a good football friend 👍⚽

what a night - my biggest regret not going to it live !

And Baps was fouled for their second goal.

Up there as possibly the best game I've ever seen, which is even more remarkable considering I missed most of the first half. I remember frantically driving around outside the ground for a parking space (having been made very late due to roadworks) and hearing the huge roar as Earnshaw's goal went in. I eventually parked up miles away and ran to the stadium, by which time the ticket office had closed and things seemed just about as bad as they could be - I was stuck outside, having missed nearly all the first half, with no ticket and we were a goal down.

Luckily I found someone to get my ticket and made it in to what was the most amazing atmosphere I've encountered at a game. I was right at the back of our section next to two cocky stewards who got a less lot cocky as time went on, before actually leaving saying they couldn't stand being in with us lot any longer!
