    Larry whinging

Negative, mundane, boring football. That was why Larry. It always seemed to be that we would go 1 nil up, panic and defend a 1 goal lead for our lives and end up losing. I know there are a couple of games such as Cods at home where we went for it and looked ok, but in the main it was get a one...

The BFC player you always thought would come good .. but didn't!

I have to agree with Steve Davies. He came here with a fairly decent record and it just didn't happen for one reason or another. I even bought in to him second time round, thinking maybe he could rediscover some form. Just never materialised here.

    Footballers wages in normal times?

Interesting you say about the average wage. I watched the docu series about Sunderland and it stated that the average wage in the Premier league was 66k per week (last season) 14k pw in championship and 2k in league one. They were highlighting the fact that the club just couldn't keep paying...

Did anyone really want Haythornthwaite as owner?

Of course he does. Wonder if Fylde were top like Barrow are, would he still be saying it?

Just started watching the second season on Sunderland on Netflix

Stewart Donald is still the chairman/owner as far as I know. I heard he put around £8m in to aquiring Sunderland then used parachute payments to pay the rest owed. I was told this by a couple of Sunderland supporters. Not sure how true it is, but I think you hit the nail on the head that he aint...

Quirks of the old East Stand

Remember the loos in the scratching sheds. Essentially just a wall with a built in gutter at bottom. The stench wasn't great if stood near em. Remember 95/96 season when we were up top end of the league being rammed and couldn't get clear of the loos where the entrance was. I preferred the south...

Which footballer were you 'in your head'?

Flitted between Gazza and Tony Ellis. Suffice to say I couldn't play like Gazza or score goals like Ellis 😂

    The Vic

My Mum works up at the Vic and said supplies for protective gear were running worryingly low. I must add she is on a regular ward and not a Covid ward. That said there was an 80 year old lady diagnosed last week and who died who was on my Mum's ward. They had to shut ward down to disinfect and...
