Sadly we have been to all three poor, poor shows. Beaten three times by very average but organised sides. They seem to have players that can make a goal happen . We have been poor defensively and very poor in midfield. What a rubbish Xmas in Tangerine.
Thinking of how Tom Trybull played vs Uddersfield , I think Trybull should start on Friday as the defensive point of a midfield triangle , with Fiorini and Patino in front of him - we need a stronger midfield in a tough, tough game on Friday.
Having thought about it for 24 hours.... I thought Fiorini was our best midfielder on the day , though I agree Keshi played well and made the goal . To me we were too attack heavy though and I think we would have had more control with Patino in midfield as well. Poveda is clearly injured and was...
Hands up, Jerry Yates is my favourite player. But last night, we watched with amazement at the workload he got through. How many 30 yard spints to close the opposition down ? I wish we could find out how many Kilometres he ran during the game. Also , check out Yates' celebration of Bowlers...
Ward looked fit last night and kept going all 94plus minutes. He is not a right back , he is a midfielder. Perhaps , in retrospect, with our midfield being so lightweight last night [ apart from Dougall imo ] , he should move into midfield ?
Two points actually,
1. Poor goal to concede, perhaps if Gary Goals had not been subbed we might not have conceded that rubbish goal. He had been marshalling our defence of set pieces all night.
2. Our midfield was virtually non-existent. Kenny Dougall was there, but virtually alone . Wright...
MOTM - Big Marv or Jerry boom-boom Yates ?
Our defence was very solid all game, particularly Thorniley and Big Marv. Big Marv was quick and imperious. We were more physical and Watfords forwards were not up to the physical confrontation. Connolly and Thompson were solid , physical and busy...
Yes we lost, but we competed for 75% of the game and I left the game feeling that we could easily have got something . If Corbeanu or Jerrys shots had gone in, if King Kenny had the legs to run further and shoot or if Jerrys squared pass to Gary Goals got through.......... Positives for me were...
Why on earth is James Husband not back in the team ? Its clear that there is a weakness in our defence. Husband is robust, good in the air and solid defensively and used to perform so well along side Big Marv . James Husband, James Husband, James Husband.
What an effort Jerry Yates put in yesterday, 100% energy. He also set up , on a plate , CJ's goal [ with help from Jordan Gabriel] . Also very nearly got on to Dujon's cross to score a fourth . Links up better with Madine , IMO . Hats off to Jerry Yates ,
WBA were cynical/ dirty to my eyes. By half-time , Keshi Anderson had been kicked or hacked down 6-7 times , with no actiion taken by the referee. The referee clearly favoured the " forrmer Premier side " .
Another funny thing from last night..... at 2-0 down , Reading sang " dum de dum, de dum, dum, dum ... clucking useless " to the Mighty fans. At 3-2 to the Mighty , we sang it back to them 😄 He who laughs last , laughs longest - UTMP.
