After that performance today thank God he can't play on Tuesday. If I had a fiver for every misplaced pass I'd have a fair wedge.

Dougall has been poor since he had covid.

Brad Holmes has nothing to offer.

Garbutt was garbage.

Gabriel was gash.

Ward misplaced a lot of passes too.

We need a whole new midfield for next season.

We were poor and a lot of what yhe above says is true but how can you say Brad Holmes has nothing to offer after having about 9 minutes today and having basically 2 bits of involvement I remember. One he knocked too far and the other he did a 1-2 with Yates and it looked more purposeful that we had seen most the game and I think Yates messed it up.

You cannot write someone off after 10 minutes.

It was his chance to show something and he didn't get involved.

Given how long it takes top pros who came to us to bed in and get used to the style, league etc you have written him off after 10 minutes playing in a side devoid of confidence and creating nothing for the strikers.

What did you expect him to do? He's a prolific youth finisher, give him a chance with a good through ball or delivery and maybe he will finish.

Throw Harry Kate on with 10 minutes to go and 2 involvements in the game out wide after no service and see what he can do.

Takes some doing to judge an 18 year old forward in 9 minutes of his home debut, in a team that don’t create many chances.

As posts go that’s either the ramblings of someone who had a few too many ales on a Saturday night or one of the daftest football shouts going.
 
Holmes aside as that comment is nonsense, embleton has been ok over recent weeks and was rightly getting some plaudits.

He was rubbish both games this week though, as were others, as was Critchley.
 
I’m sure Critchley will be looking at the last couple of performances very closely to try to find out what went wrong. Was it formation, tactics, player selection, players performance, fatigue, mentality, because we should have dominated both Rochdale and Shrewsbury and won easily.

If he isn’t doing that, then someone needs to have a word, and that person might be Simon Sadler. This is definitely a moment for him, the pressure is on with four crucial games which will define our season.

16 games unbeaten with a shockingly poor midfield is some bout of luck isn’t it?
