Memorable Match Missed

Congratulations, Sir.
What's three points against that lot when compared to a lifetime of marital bliss with your soul mate?

In the 1966-7 relegation season I went to every home game except one. I went walking in the Lakes and missed the 6-0 win over Newcastle, the only win at Bloomfield that season.

Liverpool away (Prem season). My youngest's christening. Ged Mills was our DJ for the do!

Couldn’t get time off for the west scum play off final. The night before my boss changed his mind........watched it in a local boozer full of Mags drinking mixed fruit kopperburg and vodka shots. A bad day all round.

Barnet away!

The Pickering hat trick game at Deepdale to ensure promotion to League 1, Didn't start going every game until 2 seasons later after we had been relegated again. Saw some games in league 1 but the love started the season after.

Don't get me started on this one.
22nd May 2010 playoff final.
My niece got married and wanted my 2 year old stroppy daughter to be a bridesmaid. I was threatened with divorce if I went to Wembley and banished from my family if I didn't go to her wedding.
It still irks me to this effing day and it has caused a rift between me and her because I quipped "I wouldn't mind but we were in the premier league longer than you were married to that fidiot."
Her 2nd marriage I got lost and missed the ceremony. She even scowled at me just because I said "Who's idea was it to throw a dart at a map and decide to get married where it landed?"
We're not on the best of terms after her 2nd divorce.🙄
Just because I answered her faecesbook post announcing her 3rd marriage
What's wrong with saying
"Don't you fecking dare get married when the playoffs are being played."
Needless to say I've not been sent an invite. 🤣

Liverpool away in the Prem League. My entire family support Liverpool (even though there is no connection) and I went with Blackpool (thanks to class mates at school). The irony is that 3 of my family went (in the home end) but I couldn't get a ticket.
Still laughing about last night!

Play Off final against Orient, my brother got married that day and as best man i thought it was best to attend . Started my speech by announcing the result which given it was a Yorkshire crowd went down well especially with my Norwich supporting cousins who understood my loss.

Doc, is she a 3rd time lucky sort of person?
I would say to her, 'I promise not to miss your 4th, even if Pool are at Wembley'. 😉

Leeds 0 - Blackpool 5, feckin' accidents on motorways so was nowhere near the ground for kick off, turned back and had to listen to the goals going ion as I sat in more tailbacks.
Still no regrets missing my cousin's wedding for the 2010 play-off final though 👍 😉
