Electric motor bikes?

Seeing more electric motor bikes, no pedals, no number plate, no lights, riders with balaclava, IE no helmet...
What is the law on these things?
What are plod doing about these scroates riding across traffic lights on red doing wheelies?
I guess they have no insurance....

Serious considering getting a e bike
I di have a normal bike for commute during winter etc

Any experience
Ps I intent to have a helmet and lights

Im looking at an ebike too, but one that I need to pedal, given assistance only by the motor. The ebikes I refer to have no pedals, & would seem to exceed the 15.5mph that by law they are allowed to go to, as they pass me at speed when doing 30mph..

On the ebike front, I am looking at Buy a bike (Charnock Richard), they have a nice Specialised MTB e bike, reduced from £3500, to £2499, seems a good bike.....

Monster have a good selection on the A59

As for the ones you reference I have heard the police can't chase if they have no helmet in case it leads to a crash

Not sure if true however it would explain why they seemingly are never challenged

Probably too difficult to chase since they can easily go off-road or onto pavements as well.

My though was they should just follow them with drones, preferably unobserved, and then turn up with a van full of plod at whatever address they end up at.

No lights and no number plate?

Won’t matter then if I knock them off it 😉
Had something similar myself a few weeks back.

Going uphill on a steep, narrow, deserted, residential road, getting ready for a tight left, just as I was about to move to the right to make the turn I see 3 black clad youths on e-scooters hurtling towards me at speed, no lights, at night, fortunately I saw them just in time, otherwise they'd have made a right mess of my car.

That would've been an interesting conversation with plod.

2 black clad scroates flying through the red traffic lights at Victoria Hotel and North Drive, wrong side of the road and doing about 40mph. See these 2 down Victoria Road West on a regular basis (daily) over taking cars on the wrong side of the road, so why are the cops letting them get away with it? They must be pretty local. Someone will get killed so who's fault will it be?
