Patino & Jerry Yates

No we do not want Patino back. Our problem this season has been too many lightweights in the side, hence our terrible away form. We need some midfield muscle. If he had been any good Patino would have been a regular in the Swansea side and not getting released by Arsenal!
 
I expect that red card might have sealed his fate at Swansea.
Reckon we would have a decent chance of getting him back on the cheap.
 
Weird thing is they all say Jerry doesn't give any effort or press, he must be seriously unhappy there.

No chance he comes back unless we go up, he will be on 15 grand a week and a league one loan makes no sense when they'll be quite a few lower champ clubs who will take him.
 
We’ve got no chance of getting either especially Yates he was out the door as soon as critchley came through it
 
Unbelievable, some of the comments on this thread.

It seems some are more interested in having a sing song 'getting two great sons back' than a team that will play good football for 90 plus minutes and win!

I give up.
 
Only on AVFTT can someone suggest we bring a player back to our club in League 1 the same week it’s reported Roma and Juventus both want to sign him 😂

And on the same thread he’s not considered good enough for us!

Someone earlier this year reckoned Dembele would cost us no more than £400k.

Pretty sure someone suggested we should bring in Morgan Whiitaker from Plymouth the other day too.

I thought Patino was npt afraid to get stuck in to challenges in midfield. Won a lot of headers for his size too.
Last seasons' goal of the season nominations (think there were 8) he had 2 goals and 4/5 assists in those.

We’ve no chance of getting either but they both walk into our starting 11 & become our best two players.

Daft to suggest otherwise unless you have forgot that Jake Beesley is our main centre forward.

No I agree about Beesley he is league 2 standard, but Yates will be on good money at Swansea and will want to show he is good enough, I was being a bit cheeky saying he was overrated 😉
 
Arsenal will try and do a deal to sell Patino. He is a good technical player but he isn’t going to play in the top flight here any time soon.

And he can play in the EU with no visa issues due to his dad being Spanish.
 
Only way we get Yates back is on loan if Swansea are happy to pay a chunk of his wages..Yates and Rhodes would interesting and would make Beesley plan B as he should be. I think we need a Byers rather than a Patino and if we had actually played Byers in the first three games when he was eligible instead of putting him in the Neil Critchley quarantine period then we may even have got the 3 points we were short of.

Byers wasn't fully fit.
 
Whilst I generally agree on not going back to former players, I'd still take a proven 20+ L1 goal scorer back without hesitation.

If we could do some sort of loan deal with Swansea for Jerry,that would be good (permanent seems unlikely given the probable fees involved). We certainly need a new striker in, I like Joseph but he needs to find his best position. He isn't a striker imo and tends to drift to the left side a lot.

I don't think there's any chance of Patino coming back in L1. I'd be chuffed if we could get Byers.

Probably last chance saloon re. Patino with some big clubs, as he’s clearly a gifted player but it’s too physical and fast for him here.

Can see him succeeding abroad, however be very surprised if it’s with the top clubs, more likely a top division player.

As for Jerry, can see him wanting to come back here for a year. We won’t be able to buy him due to wages but a loan can be sensible- build some confidence, he can score a few and then looks a more attractive proposition for Swansea to sell next year. Think he’d link well with Joseph and Rhodes if he signed.

Really surprised some think Yates will come back here.he’d prefer a Huddersfield or a Birmingham over us.no loyalty in football these days.
