What happened to these fans forums that were promised a while back?

We've been asking for this for a while. The club has turned in on itself communication wise (arguably for a few reasons). Surely there would be benefit in talking to the whole fan base sometime soon? The recent survey wasn't up to much. Surely it would be good to hear what people really think and hopefully galvanise some much needed solidarity at what looks like being a seriously tricky time for us.

I'm beginning to agree with the last comment. I say this with disappointment as I want my club to be an example of how to run a football club with positive engagements with the fans in a variety of ways. The talk is often given that this is what we will be but in reality we seem only to engage with the walk on this in fits and starts, apart from the community trust which continues to be excellent.

The dates for the fans forums should be penciled in ahead of the season. Similarly a more structured approach should be taken to the use of the website with regular features, more engagement with fans etc. At present there are days in which nothing is presented at all, which, to my mind, lacks ambition and commitment to club's online presence.

So many areas - recruitment, communication, coverage of all aspects of the club in a transparent way - lack the systemic rigour needed to be the club we should aspire to be.

Agree with all the above 👍🏼 After 2 rubbish seasons including one relegation, an owner in court in a foreign land on corruption charges (where have we heard that before?), the council reputedly still only at the stage of compulsory purchases on Henry Street, no spades in the ground at the supposedly agreed new training ground and a fanbase split over the manager and style of football to the point of threats from many to walk away.
Surely any of the points above on their own would have the owner and board scrambling to address the loyal customers never mind all of them together????

You were sat next to me when I asked them for a time frame and it was December last year!!!

The questions you raise are the exact reason why there won't be an open forum in the near future.

The survey I never received. I wouldn’t mind but I’ve given them my email address on more than one occasion when renewing my ST. Yes I did check in spam.

Yes I've heard a few who didn't receive it. Strange when people get regular marketing emails. Just a glitch I'm sure but not ideal. In any case the survey was pretty superficial and did not seek opinions, instead going for a multiple choice approach on relatively safe ground questions.

Regarding the training ground, planning permission still has to be granted by Blackpool Borough Council.

Whether Sadler is innocent or guilty of the insider trading charges against him I am sure that he and his family will be under immense stress because of it and whatever anyone says, reading the article in The FT yesterday it is clearly a very big deal and not some insignificant event that either never happened or if it did will be resolved by brushing it under the carpet as some seem to think.

There is little chance of any of these meetings in the near future because of the above and because we have had an unsuccessful season with a large percentage of supporters who want Critchley gone, It is the Blackpool way, what should be a time of massive progression after the removal of the vermin has become a damp squib with a feeling of WTF is going on around the club. Now, I have no clue about this, it is just my thoughts but I wouldn't be surprised things get worse next season and I wonder if he is actively looking for a buyer.

Why would he want to put his head above the parapet with supporters who will have too many difficult questions?

I have been told by more than one person that prospective buyers have looked round the club over the last few months. Hopefully the one from Blackpool even though he no longer lives here is as good for us as Simon has been upto now if indeed Simon is looking to sell

I wish I could like this post 100 times.

Fan engagement is non-existent apart from when they want money.

I really would;dn't be surprised if the club is sold within the next 2 years, maybe the next 12 months. I think he bought the club with the best of intentions but it was a lot more stress and aggravation than he bargained for, his business is his hedge fund business and he needs to keep his eye on the ball there without being distracted by a football club and all the problems that go along with it.

We probably need to get behind Critch for the time being as some stability at the club is required.

I could write a very long response to your Reform indoctrination but I doubt you’d believe it. Just keep talking the pills 💊 😂 it never ceases to amaze me how people can be manipulated.
Really weird post considering who you're making it to...

Very odd behaviour. So having someone who takes a different political view is suddenly indoctrinated because they don't instantly give up those views when challenged and views you don't agree with. Classic lefty brainwashed shite, you must be right and anyone else is indoctrinated or manipulated, if that makes you feel better.

From someone who's supported Labour their whole life even though they've completely changed what they stand for and I'm indoctrinated, gotcha 👌

Once the PP's are granted there will be more chance of movement, not before.

I hope SS solves his problems and stays because I do think he has the right intentions with us.
Reading this board I can't for the life of me understand why anyone would want to buy us with all the negative criticism that comes it's way while losing a lot of money for the privilege.

Are we the only club who has structured dialogue meetings. Can't understand why we can't have an open forum. Something needs to happen soon as there seems a lot of uncertainty about.

Blackpool is no different to any other club mate, probably because as fans we all feel as though we have a vested interest

The level of fan engagement ( on whatever level ) is incredibly disappointing
It’s about three months now since the Seasiders Together feedback was submitted by BST ( not sure about others ) and since then it’s been radio silence

Communication from the club is at an all time and has been since Simon got upset when the fans expressed their concerns regarding Appletons reappointment, or maybe he has issues with the 294 fans groups all wanting to dine at the top table whenever there’s an opportunity to 'look at me l was there', just a thought!

That where lies the problem we've too many fans groups and all of them expect the same treatment.
Why on earth groups set up as a protest, from another county, coach travel, Facebook/X,supporters bar etc all get invited when it should just be BST and the biggest group of them all Season Ticket holders at these meets.

Season Ticket holders don't count, unless they piggy back onto one of the myriad of supporters groups. Captive audience as we have witnessed so much garbage over the decades, we are classed as a given. Over that period the dichotomy between club communication and actions has been so great, I take it with a pinch of salt.

A lot of the criticism of the club on here is constructive rather than negative and comes from a desire for the club to be the best it can be. It comes from supporters who love the club. Any organisation that resents criticism or "grumbling" is unhealthy as it is ignoring feedback that can lead to improvement.

Not is all the criticism aimed at Simon. He has appointed a management team to create the operational climate within the club and this team should be on top of communication with the fans. The situation with the response to the survey and the absence of dialogue meetings is not good enough and needs to be rectified. A reflective management team would know this and take action.
