Blackpool v Cambridge United Official Matchday Thread 06.04.24

Yes, 100%. I'm definitely right. Watch it back. dogshit runs from both of them. Kouassi has sat back post every time. And Beesley is marking a CB. Carey's cross was ok then but again no one getting across the front man. It's basics of a striker.
Kouassi is taking up back post, nothing has gone that far, Bees is the one who needs to be challenging at the near post. If we get one we'll get four.

Well worked goal.
Both Kouassi and Dembele knew they couldn't get a shot off but worked the ball well 👍🏻
Fine strike

At least we look strong up top with the two big lads giving their defenders as good as they get.
No point trying to play like Barcelona with our ability.
Hit the big lads, look for flicks and chances.
Byers and Carey are both at the races too.

It’s been a good half for us.Great to see Carey getting some shots on goal.

Kouassi shown some good strength and knock downs off the diagonal ball.Coulson having a decent battle down his side.Dembele playing more like himself.

Agree with Kurt.Be good to see a quicker striker who can make that run across goal.

Norburns absence is easy to see as we actually look good in MF. Think Carey is having a good game and Byers playing thoes forward passes has been great at getting us on the front foot. My only negative is the occasions when we get into good positions and then not pulling the trigger. Sometimes I wish we'd just have a shot. Good half

Byers and Carey are a good blend. Byers confident and composed on the ball & Carey driving forward with a good engine.
and we dont have the physical anchor of Norburn. There are two midfielders looking for the ball, and then using it positively. its noticable that we have control of the midfiled for the first time in ages. Marv is further advanced and because hes got players to pass to he looks comfortable as well.

CJ needs to step up a bit though, had a couple of decent runs. Cambridge defence is very preoccupied with Kaddy which gives space to Carey to be a creator as well. if they concentrate on Carey then Dembele has pockets of space.

would be nice to see us step up the pace and intensity and really take it to them.

Let’s hope critchleys passion with holding on doesn’t kick in

I know it's probably immaterial but Oxfords next three games are interesting, all at home,
