Was thinking last night, as crap as he was he must have decent connections for loan players.
Rodgers, patinio, fiorini, Poveda to name a few

Probably masks his short comings as a manager. He had Morgan Roger’s and Brennan Johnson on the wings and Florini and Bridcutt in the middle at Lincoln.

Yeah he does. It's what I thought sold him to Simon Sadler with one eye on relegation and a L1 cheapo rebuild. And being local and available for an immediate start to save on Ben Mansford having to find a tracksuit for day one of pre-season at the time.

Prem U21s like him as they've got their own thing going on and he'll just let them play. And he likes them as they don't talk back. Usually one of the first jobs when he goes in somewhere is to start to move senior players on so his voice is the loudest. And often the gigs he gets is because the club wants to make cost savings too.

Wonder whether that was a deciding factor in going for him. Convinced Sadler and co. that he could make us fight above our means due to his scouting connections.

You still need someone to manage the talent you have. I think he is widely respected as a coach though.

The minute he said we‘d over achieved and had the attitude of little Blackpool he lost me if truth be told.

Then there was using Patino and Carey as a midfield pairing. The single weakest midfield I’ve ever seen as a Blackpool fan. Teams waltzed through with ease game after game. No bite, no chance of competing.

A talented team of individuals but not a squad at any point under Appleton
