We had an interesting tram ride home to FY5 tonight following the game today- I called out someone who attended the games when we boycotted and she to her credit stood by her argument that she had every right to attend the games.

She told me to forget the past and move on - but to me she will always be a mushroom or scab.

I know I’m not a miner from the miners strike and we need to move on, but sometimes I think of all the protests I attended and the fact I could not attend any games but who is right.

Mushrooms need to be called out 😡

You both are

We have moved on, and I am ful of admiration from those directly effected for their approach. It doesn’t prevent the feelings of fury when seeing the likes of Greenhough form the FRG to whatever that Vichy bollocks was called, swanning about.

But as I say, those sued and abused have lead the way with the almost ‘Mandela’ approach. We are better for them and their example.

Saw that tosser today but I've moved on & wouldn't pick an argument with him or anybody or anybody else. But should they bring it up then that's fair game.

Some people remained part of the problem rather than the solution but, as others have said, it's old news now, we got our club back and we know that those of us who made the sacrifice will always hold the moral high ground.
I don't see any benefit in raking up old grievances now. Let's move on!

Move on

Some people have sons who were chief mushrooms on this thread. Some people are now Bessie mates with people like Ozzie who went to every home game and loved it. If you can all forget it, fair enough, but naaaa, it broke me for a long time. Forget maybe, but never forgive.

They know who they are and have to live with it for the rest of their lives. Move on.
I don't think they're arsed, if they were they'd have boycotted. I imagine most would be like who the OP met, they'd still justify going to matches to this day.

EDIT:
Just remembered this video, skip to 5 minutes in. These people will have no remorse about attending, some in those interviews seemed to revel in the fact others were boycotting their big day out at Wembley

Is that all u have to worry about? Good grief!

I did not pick on a woman - she gave her opinion on being a mushroom and she was very opinionated about it which I respected.

So 20’s you are wrong as usual
Your constant use of the word 'mushroom' suggests you are a very reasoned individual.

It really is beyond belief that this issue has raised its ugly head.
Why on earth would you want to come on here and boast about berating a woman on a tram because she didn’t believe in NAPM ? Wow, what a tough guy you are, was she all alone as well? Wonder if you would have done the same to a bloke.
It’s her choice and likewise for anyone else who decided to go. And what people need to remember is that whilst NAPM MAY have had a slight influence in removing the Oystons the main influencer in all that was Valery Belekon
and he should go down in Blackpool folklore.
And before you ask, yes I was NAPM, I sacrificed my season ticket and missed the opportunity to go to Wembley which is something I thought I would never do. That was my choice.
And as for the reference to “mushroom” and “scab”. FFS, grow up, you sound like a child.
I also notice you put “WE” had an interesting ride home. So you obviously had the backing of your mates in case she kicked off. That’s the way to do it, safety in numbers!
Was you expecting a lot of support when you posted? Clearly backfired!

Where did he say he beat a woman? Why all these lies? He's got my support.

I boycotted and made that decision, many other people didn't and I disagree with them but that's their choice. I have too many things in my own life to bother being concerned or angry with what other people are doing. Far too many people in this world are far too concerned or let what others are doing affect them. Just crack on with your own life safe and happy with your own decisions and let others do the same.

None of your business that someone wants to go to a footy match ,no matter what the score is with the team . You have the right to think what you want ,but calling someone out is out of order . I would not be asking your permission to go to a game and calling them mushrooms is out of order too .
What would happen if all racists fans did not go to games because a black man was playing . Then all homophobic did not go because a gay player was playing. They have the right to think things ,but should not be forced not to go because some bully is forcing them not to go and insulting them on line.

Wow. Have I really just read that?
Your comparisons are way off. Racists don’t go because of a black player and it’s non racists right to go even if the racist call them out on it.
Is that really the comparison I’ve just read?

not sure EO said "beat", he said "berate". And the o/p said he called a woman out which to me suggests he berated her. So any lies there?

Ahhh ok. Berate. My bad. Mis read. Still support the OP mind

It's a minor miracle I reckon that people moved on so quick, it was immediate. I think the feel good factor just swept people away and there was no time for French style post-WWII shaving of heads for those who carried on attending.

I think it's bound to come up from time to time, it wasn't that long ago really. The mushrooms live among us still unfortunately 🍄

Christ on a bike!!

Russia are currently trying to kick the shite our of Ukraine, and the Israelis are doing the same to Palestine.

The NHS is on its arse.

Trump has just told Putin to feel free to do want he wants to any country who doesn’t pay their NATO bill!

Meanwhile, at Bloomfield Road, an internecine feud is been resurrected at a time you’re doing relatively well.

A bit of perspective wouldn’t go amiss!

What the hell are you even doing on here? This has nothing to to with you. Sod off back to your own board and ask for perspective from those that want Lowe out.

The thing about these so called 'Mushrooms'(I know quite a few) they just carried on when we all stopped boycotting.

They go to nearly every home game including cups and friendlies, you'll see them at the majority of aways(BSA+BLT) or functions the club hold.

I put plenty into our club but not compared to them, so even though I disagreed with their stance the amount of time and money they put into following us year on year let's them off for me.
