I think I might do Bournemouth for the weekend . As we have friends in Southampton, so half an hours drive for a quick visit .Better not be. Just arranging to be down there for the weekend
Did a weekend there with Leyland and Chorley back in 93.Better not be. Just arranging to be down there for the weekend
Bournemouth's great; especially Poole side.Like Bournemouth, used to have a fantastic holiday apartment there when I lived darn sarf.
Half an hour, to get from S’hampton to B’mouth, in August? I fancy not. Unless you’re just talking about how long it’ll take you to park? I live in Southampton and my sis lives down next to Bournemouth in Poole, so I’m regularly headed down that way. Unless you own a Ferrari and the roads are clear, you’ll need at least 45 mins - 2hrs +. The 2hrs + being a hot, sunny, beach day, which could be a possibility.I think I might do Bournemouth for the weekend . As we have friends in Southampton, so half an hours drive for a quick visit .
My in laws live in Bournemouth and the M27 is always bumper to bumper on a sunny day in August. Even coming off the motorway ang cutting through the new forest can be as badHalf an hour, to get from S’hampton to B’mouth, in August? I fancy not. Fulham game will be moved but maybe not necessarily for TV, it’s FA cup weekend!Fulham (h) moved to Friday 10th September I reckon.....
Shouldn’t have to spend too much time on the M27 Steb, as it runs out shortly after leaving Southampton and becomes the A31. The A31 is predominantly single lane traffic and is a right pain when there‘s beach weather. It then becomes a real nightmare if there’s ever an incident. And . . . as you rightly say - cutting through the Forest, can be equally painful. My in laws live in Bournemouth and the M27 is always bumper to bumper on a sunny day in August. Dont forget we now come in the FA Cup at the 3rd round which wont take place till 8th January, so cant see that game being movedFulham game will be moved but maybe not necessarily for TV, it’s FA cup weekend!
We normally set off early morning com here but hit m27/A31 around 9.30 ish. If it’s a sunny day it is bad with people trying to get a spot on the beach. I don’t think any of the country shows are on this year so that will help. We went to the Ellingham show one year and it took hours getting back to Bournemouth stuck on a country lane with no where to goShouldn’t have to spend too much time on the M27 Steb, as it runs out shortly after leaving Southampton and becomes the A31. Yep, early morning start usually imperative, but I’ve still experienced heavy holiday traffic early in the day. You can certainly spend hrs getting to and from Bournemouth at certain times of the year. PS - I should have rephrased my comment on the A31 single lane bit. Although it IS dual carriageway, it moves as slowly as if you were on a single lane road during dodgy times, is what I should have said and trying to change lanes at these times is futile. We normally set off early morning com here but hit m27/A31 around 9.30 ish.
