Blackpool v Sunderland Official Matchday Thread 17.04.21

Pretty even. Sunderland keep the ball nicely but look a bit toothless up front so far. I would like to see us close down their right-back from crossing a bit quicker.

When we do get the ball in their half we look to have more movement and pace but we don't have enough possession at the moment.

Could go either way.

We need a win really and don't look like we're producing the quality so far to get it.

A few long balls into the channels etc is OK for simms to chase but not all the time.

Where has the incisive passing gone? Its not even as if Sunderland have stopped us its just we have chosen to boot it up.

I didn't see critch going mad each time we did and lost it but id assume he wants us to keep the all better as he always says.

Maybe the suns in their eyes in which case did they even consider changing sides before kick off?

Just poor so far, have to improve drastically on the ball for me.

We're playing a very narrow game today and that's because our full backs are having to defend and can't get up their wings

not much happening really. As said, they seem to have more control of the game than we do but so far not been too much of a threat. Overall a poor game.

We're missing Embleton a bit. He moves himself and the ball round well. We've hit a lot of loose ones so far and let's face it, they're a good also physical side giving us no time on the ball. Should be a great second half, looking at other scores we'd be right back in the mix if we can nick a win.

We've only forced one save, no point in stating the obvious. Have us down to lose, so would definitely take the point and hopefully grab all 3 at spotland on Tuesday.

Really feeling our injuries today I think. Kaikai out wide again due to not enough attacking midfielders to play our 4 3 2 1 - back to the 4 4 2 out of necessity.

I've enjoyed it.
It's a good game of football. There's some posters on here who are very difficult to please.
The ref is bit inconsistent to say the least but not biased one way or another.
UTMP.
Pool need more of the ball , last 20 mins Sunderland better team , but agree what u say lol

I know it's a cliché but we just need one good ball through, they look toothless up front but options on the bench.

Get Dougall off! Playing with 10 men

1 pass 1 booking

The rest was made up of 3 yard passes to both teams!

I'm sure we would all like to see him back to how he was several months ago because as many have pointed out he is way off atm.

Look at it this way. When KD has 100 touches and makes 20 bad passes that means he's positively affected the game 80 times. In the same time Ward and KaiKai have 50 touches between them. Even if they make every ball count they only affect that game 50 times. Dougall's job is to control the game. Without him there we're fukced.

The main thing for me that is costing us a few points in games is the lack of options going forward on the bench. We don't have any strikers to come on and put games to bed and likewise come on and win games. Very much down to Yates and simms and that's it. Next season we really need more strikers available to cover injuries.

They should rename it 'I Don't Follow', know what I'm saying eh? eh? Anyway here's a great up and coming magician to entertain as our next act and the buffet is now open.

Even if you thnk Sunderland are a better team I don't know how you can say it's a poor game.
Time you got a season ticket at Accy.
no threats on goal from either team, little or no goalmouth action, neither keeper had a save to make. In effect nothing happening.

Is the fourth official really called Ben Toner?? We used to have one of them......
He was scheduled to ref a match when the Oysts were still in. Another ref was brought in and the chant, ' There's only one bent owner was, sadly, never heard
