Ellis Simms

The video clips are amazing. He can run at the defence and shoot from distance, as well as poach goals close to goal. Of course, he won't score as many goals in League One as at youth level, but he obviously has a good football brain and the technical skills to go with it.

This is an excellent loan deal. 👍 🍊
Some reports say he can be lazy and no left peg. Big jump to league1 but good luck to him.

Excited by this one, looking forward to seeing what comes of it.

Already getting the pace and finishing angle but I'm not able to view the footage here, so can anyone give a picture of what he does - central, wide, withdrawn?

Just wondering where he'll fit in, and in place of who. Would he be a better partner for Yates or Madine in a front 2, or is he going to take one of the wider berths in a front 3, with CJ and Anderson gone long term.

I think this one could go really well. He looks like the type of striker we lack, quick and mobile and not shy. The forward line desperately needs some running and movement and ability to get past and behind defenders. Will be interesting

Critchley certainly likes the youth of today that’s for sure.
Whilst I welcome him with open arms I do hope some experience heads on shoulders arrive during January as youth alone won’t get us out of this league.

I've said before that one of the biggest disappointments this season is our failure to bring in young loan players that are capable of making a real difference to our attack. Hopefully we've given due consideration to this lad and he helps improve our 'goals for' column. At the very least we know his position - i'm not sure we ever knew where Woodburn or Kemp fitted in.
Look forward to seeing what he can do.

You do wonder whether these sorts of threads will ever stop despite the fact that every comment being made regarding the players ability has literally no supporting evidence to back it up - whether the view is positive or negative.

Remember what Leeds fans said about Crainey...

Loads of positivity about this loan, how many appearances off the subs bench before we decide he's shit ?
I would guess his career will be finished by his next birthday according to a few on here.
exciting prospect doesn’t affect the cap with his age. Out of contract in the summer if he stars ⭐
Welcome to the Tangerines young Ellis

Looks a promising signing and an impressive scoring record, could be a very shrewd move this one.

Lets hope it turns out better than the last striker we loaned from Everton, the Greek god himself Vellios!

He'll have his chance and I wish him luck. He'll need it playing under Critchley...there are reasons why we've only scored 21 goals in 21 games...lack of creativity.

Out of interest, when you heard about us signing Simms did you fire up the internet with the purpose of posting negative comments on here, scouring social media for the odd negative comment from Everton fans and also with the intent on using this thread to slag off the team/Critchley?

We need goals and we've signed a striker. Yeah, it's a risk and a step up, but seems a bit purposely contrarian to be posting this kind of stuff in multiple threads when you haven't seen a single minute of him playing.

I can comment as I please, so get used to it, or ignore it. The choice is yours.

Honestly, just block him, it's far easier.
There is something seriously wrong when a guy of his age is that negative about every single facet of the club he claims to be a supporter of.

Welcome to Bloomfield Road Ellis. I would suggest you don't read this board as some have already made their minds up about you and won't change them. So get in there, do your best and ignore the saddos on here who haven't yet seen you but have already written you off. I really hope you prove them wrong.

Not written off, but it's a big step up as the likes of Sorensen and Nuttall found out. No doubt it's a stop gap until the usual Pool summer transfer merry go round.

I know, that wasn't what I was getting at - in fact I asked you a question. More trying to figure out if you sign on and spend your time being purposely contrarian at the drop of news, despite being the age that you are and a longtime fan of the club.

To be honest when I first looked at the thread heading I thought it was about that little Para Olympic swimmer Elllie Simmonds!
No mention that it was a new signing.

I hope this lad really bags a few goals for us .

Sorensen - fair, but we have since improved the scouting set up. Nuttall had made 28 senior appearances for Blackburn across League One and the Championship. What was the big step up? Yes it hasn't quite worked out for him here at current, but I think you're just looking for examples to back up your negative POV with that one.

No, why do you see it that way? I say it how I see it just as I did when we signed Kemp and Woodburn. I faced similar criticism on here when I gave my views on them...and I was right. I see this signing as a stop gap until our usual summer transfer merry go round kicks in.

Nuttall couldn't hack it at Blackburn or out on loan.
Have we improved our scouting and recruitment?
None of the following are/have been/were first team regulars...Fojticek, Gabriel, Mitchell, Robson, Williams, Sarkic, Lubala, Kemp and Woodburn.

My Everton contact - if your in the market for a young striker he is one of the best out there, your coach (Critch) is brilliant and Everton are delighted he will be taught by him.
