FY2 for me. The good old days in the Old England. Every Friday night was fight night in there. No PPV or anything like that. Proper ring side action 😜

FY4 without a doubt.
Red Lion that is now Yates's;
Raffles;
Star;
Bedlam;
Calypso all battlefields and especially Jokers.
I've seen some serious stuff in all these gaffs. Locals v locals; Locals v groups of lads on holiday; stag night crowds v away football fans; away fans v fans of other teams staying in Blackpool whilst playing teams in the north west.
Yes, definitely South Shore FY4.

I agree with you FY2. Don't be fooled by the posher living accommodation and fleets of BMW's and Mercs. The FY4 lot are all mouth and shell suits whilst the FY2 lot were well groomed and trained pugilists................😬😉

This is a true story.

Cup final day in Leicester. Went to a pub called The Highfield to watch the game. Walked in, not busy, me and my mate get our seats in front of the TV. Next thing fight brakes out between an enormous Dutch guy, a, and a Indian chap b. Someone intervenes c and then a steps down, b and c start fighting when d joined in, b drops out when e joins in, etc. As it all got a little bit fisty, a and b were at the other end of the bar having a beer together.

Did you suffer any beer spray?

“Well groomed pugilists” sounds like a stage direction from West Side Story 😂

Its Fy4 by a country mile.

Lads who regularly honed their skills at various locations within the Pleasure Beach in their early teens readying themselves for the public houses of South Shore as adults.

Different breed

So, an Alphabetti kind of fight

Don't know about nowadays but when I was a lad the combined Revoe and South Shore Crew that I was part of were untouchable and no one dared come anywhere near us. So FY4 it is.

Average Council Tax Band( assuming anyone pays it) A

All I can say is I‘m glad I don’t live there😉...and certainly wouldn’t want to walk there in daylight let alone the evening...makes Moss Side look nice.

Bleach, of course our postcodes are soft as a bakers flowery baps compared to the major cities, but I thought it was a local postcode contest.

You are wrong on this raging

Postal codes in coastal areas are the hardest in any country.

Coasts act as borders and those who inhabit these areas are effectively on the the front line when it comes to repelling invaders who land to seize territory.

There will obviously be some exceptions but the general rule is that lads from coastal towns are not to be messed with.

Angel, you've clearly not lived in Salford, Wythenshawe or Moss Side.

In that case i’ll Have to go for FY4 then FY8( we moved when I was 12) and back to FY4( after marrying in 1975) on the basis of my original life in Blackpool/ St.Annes.

Not that they were particularly tough areas in those days!Went to Arnold School from 7 to 17( then Liverpool University, where there were definitely tougher areas and non too friendly locals) so no real local rivals especially as our school hours were much longer than the other schools so we never came out at the same times( Don’t get me started on the current school hours for most schools....a 3pm finish is the norm around here....by the time I left Arnold it was near 5 o’clock).

Been in SK8 since 1977.....not what you’d call a tough area except apparently at weekends when folk from Wythenshawe invade the pubs on Cheadle High Street😉
i don’t do pubs at my age😉

I think I would have to go for SE15. You lot have absolutely no idea...... 😎

Spent my last few years at work before I retired working in Salford.
The odd time I went to Sainsbury's I had to cut through Ordsall Estate.
The guys I worked with thought I was nuts but it was quicker to walk than drive.
Used to visit the Wellington pub for a beer occasionally until some gangster wandered in with a sawn off shotgun and killed one of the regulars.
Different world.

FY7 in the days of trawlermen ,nobody messed with the deckies when they landed from Iceland .
Blackpool fans have to be tough especially in years gone by with all the big city firms who thought they could come here and do what they like .

There were 2 'Hard' areas in B/Pool as I grew up.
Queenstown and the Ibbison St area. When we were kids we daren't go into Queenstown alone (or even with pals).
Ibbison St was notorius for having 'Hard men' living there. Strange really because as I got a little older I became friends with Reggie Hardman
who as his name implied was 'HARD', but a great guy. I knew I was always safe when Reggie was around.
Strangely, although he was a year or more older than I was, he actually went into the same Regiment as did, but after I had left.
Reggie had been finishing his trade apprenticeship, so he was about 22/3 when he joined. he boxed for the Regiment and was a
Welterweight I think and became BAOR Champ.
