The signed for us but never played for us roll of dishonour

So there have been plenty of these over the years, players who have signed for us but have never actually played for us and so I'll start with the obvious Jamie Devitt.

Bobby Tynan signed from Tranmere in 1978.
Seemed to be a really good signing at the time.
Got badly injured in a pre season game (at Burnley I think)?
Finished his career & never played a league game for us.

Bit unfair to include him in a roll of dishonour!!

Andy Lonergan and Paul Gerrard are the two that came to mind.

Bignot wasn't in the Prem squad. He signed the summer after along with about 40 others, including Craig Sutherland, Gerardo Bruna etc.

Paul Anderson from City signed on loan and played about 4 minutes.

Another couple from that Development Squad, Stephen Husband and the Herman Munster impressionist Miguel Llera.

Dobie Gray. He kind of drifted away.

I was at that match. Before he got injured he looked like he was going to be a star player for us.

Who was the Bambi on ice.
Came on around 75 minutes and had a golden opportunity to score. Blasted over and could hardly stay on his feet. Sana Seine?

Kuji was another wasted loan.

Yes the famous Malady Martin. Grant Holt was another that only got about 20 mins on loan. Couldn't displace Big Ben but went on to score about 30 the following season for someone else.

I travelled down to Bideford when did we our preseason tour down there, playing 2 Games or so.
Malury Martin took part in one of those games.
I bet I’m one of about 5 people who have seen him play.

I didn’t go to Barnet though 😉🤣

Was at Preston. Happened at the Town end just a few minutes after he hit the bar with chip shot.

Richie Bond came on for 10 minutes against PKE, the game where Briggs nearly decapitated Tony Ellis on the half way line.

There was lad who Worthless signed from Lancaster City, Kevin Barnes??, I don't know if he ever played.

Kev Barnes was a Fleetwood lad played 4 games.

I know he played for us but I think Tony Diamond needs an honourable mention on this thread.

Pavels Steinbors - signed on a season long loan and never played - has had a long and successful career in Poland and is still playing and has 30/40 international caps too.

Dekel Keinan who disappeared as soon as he arrived.

Any number of players brought in under Jose Riga - A few Belgian lads, an Estonian winger and a handful of Spaniards all came and went - some had great pedigree and went on to have decent careers and play internationally but clearly they had terrible agents at the time !!

Roll of dishonour? Perhaps the dishonourable thing is the managers and officials of the club signing all the players mentioned, who would never get anywhere near the first team and would have no other playing outlet? Either dishonorable or incompetent?

There was a full back who played against us in the FA Cup defeat by Hednesford Town and we signed soon after. Don't think he ever played for the first team. I can't remember his name but he had long hair and wore a headband?

Dekel Keinan played well in the win at Anfield. I thought he was quite composed on the ball. That was his second win at Anfield in his career as he had been on the winning side for an Israeli team in an European Cup game.

What was that Liverpool striker called we had on loan?? Young foreigner with a decent reputation, I think he lasted 10mins then had to come off injured....During Grayson/Parkes era I think?

He also played well at Newcastle in the 2 0 win. Not quite sure what went wrong really.
