On trial, former man united left back/winger. Confirmed by Scrafton.

some pedigree.

Nearly scored and found himself pushing up quite far considering the calibre of the opposition. Clearly not afraid of displaying his talent!

He’s very talented- had a good spell in Scotland, but very injury prone. If he can get over that / has got over it, he’s potentially a premier league full back.

It was a piece of defensive work that impressed me: tight to the touchline, played a longish ball back into central defence when under pressure.

Young, potential to grow, technically gifted, attack minded and available.
This is the exact same model of recruitment that Liverpool have used so successfully under Klopp.

If Critch has liked what he has seen from him, this signing makes a lot of sense.

Him and one other permanent and 4 strong signings more on loan and we are in the mix for sure...fasten your seatbelts
If you bring 4 loan signings in they will, should, be 1st choice. IMO you will then end up with too many unhappy, non-playing permanent players. I think now we have to balance the books with the number of ins and outs but CB and 3rd keeper are absolute musts.

I don't think we have the spare spaces in the squad to accommodate that lot, unless we ship out the likes of Garitty, Devitt and Youseff. I would be surprised if we brought in more than 4 - a LB, a CB and two CMs

It seems some people want the Moon on a stick, as soon as they see a trialist it's a case of 'sign him up'. As the piece on Sunderland shows, we also have to abide by the maximum spend rules and I feel it is a tricky balancing act for those concerned with recruitment. That said, DM certainly fitted in fairly easily in the team and seemed quite at home. Maybe a decent signing. I would treat loanees as needed if and when injuries occur, and not as part of the greater plan. We appear to have a decent enough side for division one, and too many loanees, who would expect to be played, could unbalance the team and the spirit that seems to have been built up since NC became Head Coach.

He’s the only trialist that I have called for to be signed up based on positional need and obvious quality. I can’t see us having more than two loans in the squad.

Yes I think the policy is likely be about developing our own players, not those of other clubs, in the main. Demetri is a free agent so wouldn't be a loan.
