So we should have speculatively sacked a manager after a few months, just on the off-chance that we might be able to recruit an ex-player who might have possibly been better? And if Rob happened to have a bit of a lean spell for a few weeks what then? Sack him and jump ship again?
This really is just complete and utter nonsense and it really does highlight how utterly ridiculous some of us are and why Mr Sadler should take no notice whatsoever of anything we ever say.
Do you think we'd have an ounce of credibility as a Club if we just frivolously flit from one Managerial Appointment to another like that.
The mistake was appointing Appleton in the first place. But once you commit, then he needs a proper shot.
That's just you being crass but coming across as a bit of an idiot. At the end of October he had lost the support of the supporters, Sadler made the weirdest decisions, employing him in the first place and then not supporting him with the players for his system and instead of getting rid of him during the World Cup break they kept him on results got worse and worse and then..... then! They get the players he wanted and then do what? They phucking sack him!
Of course they should be aware of managers who become available, Edwards was doing well at Watford but was victim of the mental owners as all their managers are, he would have been a much better option than Appleton and certainly McCarthy and Critchley Mk2. It's not the managers fault, it's the man who owns the club. "why Mr Sadler should take no notice whatsoever of anything we ever say." maybe he should, my thoughts are not nonsense, far from it, the opportunity arose and we failed to take it. Look at who Sadler has employed as manager! It has been a shit show of managers who weren't up to it.
You say "Do you think we'd have an ounce of credibility as a Club if we just frivolously flit from one Managerial Appointment to another like that." well that's what he did anyway, 2 months later he was gone, McCarthy came in and 3 months later we have Dobbie and the Critchley again. Do you think we have an ounce of credibility anyway? We did exactly what you said we shouldn't have done.
Edwards would have been a sound call, I mean he has done okay since he joined Luton or have you missed that? Of course you could say that he may have been terrible for us, the same way you would say why would we take on a manager who has no pedigree, you change things around to suit your agenda. No one can predict what may or may not have happened but Sadler has made some serious miscalculations when it comes to managerial appointments, sometimes you have to be decisive and brave but he is neither of those two things when it comes to appointing a manager. He is stubborn and predictable.
