I’m holding
I’m holding too, I don’t get state pension for 5 years yet so I’ve put a proportion of my funds into cash to see me through to December 2024.I'm holding too
What do you hold?my investment portfolio is Pokemon. Might sound funny but I’ve 2x my portfolio in a year and it’s continuing to climb
mmmmm. Finally, an acquisition deal announced today for Hurricane with Prax which will be close to 400% what I paid, nearly 2 years ago.
Great for me, not so great for people who are into this share for a lot more. I’ll be glad to be rid of it tbh. The most crazy share I’ve ever been into. A couple of additional special payouts per share will also be paid in cash.
Credit Suisse will be fine as supported by Swiss National Bank if requiredIs the market on the cliff edge?
If Credit Suisse goes then in my opinion all bets are off - or rather down considerably!!!!
How big are you gonads - do you short the S&P 500 massively???
Interesting times!!!
If it does go over the edge - I’m going all in and will not sleep for a while.
Thoughts, and what are you doing??
I’m the very short term perhaps but I would be more worried about this being the thing that makes contagion to the whole system more likely https://archive.ph/Z5H6QCredit Suisse will be fine as supported by Swiss National Bank if required
Having had chance to look at the details properly, it’s a poor offer, made in instalments (which may not even materialise, given the company in question). I’ll be voting “no”, not that I expect it will make much difference.mmmmm.
sealed mainly. Booster boxes and Elite trainer boxes. have some high ticket graded 10 cards that instantly puts me 2.5-3x my original outlay after grading them. What do you hold?
Any chance of that in English?sealed mainly. Booster boxes and Elite trainer boxes. have some high ticket graded 10 cards that instantly puts me 2.5-3x my original outlay after grading them.
Hurricane was a crazy company with a very dodgy Oil & Gas development. It comprises only 1 well - so if that doesn’t perform??Finally, an acquisition deal announced today for Hurricane with Prax which will be close to 400% what I paid, nearly 2 years ago.

I don’t do Crypto as I think it’s a con and doomed long term - I also don’t understand it really - I only invest in companies I understand and are simple to explain.Notice how Bitcoin has revived since March.
Mixed year with some gains and losses.
Speculative shares like Hurricane was a poor tip!
It was tipped on here just like the horse racing !I don’t do Crypto as I think it’s a con and doomed long term - I also don’t understand it really - I only invest in companies I understand and are simple to explain.
Never come across Hurricane, probably for the best after what you said
Says it allIt was tipped on here just like the horse racing !
I started this thread nearly three years ago.
So how has 2023 done for you in the markets?
Personally I have had a very good year thanks to…..
Rolls Royce
Alphabet
Netflix
Microsoft
I have made a little bit on…
IAG
Bank Ozk
Wish I had not sold….
SFM
HII
Meta
Considering buying…
SFM
HII
EasyJet
Jet2
Meta
ARKK
Glencore
Diageo
Marstons
So what about you?
I bought A LOT of RR at an average of 101.16 and it’s currently about 285 - not bad for a year.Yep, stuck quite a lot into Rolls Royce a couple of months ago on a recommendation of a pal who`s involved in aviation and invested substantially himself. Hope there is still more to come, eh Seaside?
Also stuck some into Avacta, again on the recommendation of a pal who has invested very heavily. Not sure about this one, but the fact he has put such large amounts in and has been following it for over a year made me dip a toe for a quick return...
I've been in Avacta since the pre-covid days.I will look up Avacta.

It seriously disappointed on the lateral flow tests but if it cracks cancer (investor webcam coming up soon to explain how they are getting on) it'll be taken out by one of the big pharma boys for a lot more than the share price is now.
The memories are pricelessAs a 16yr old I went to work for BP. Their shares were £2.12 a pop and it was a buy one, get 1 free.
Unfortunately for me at that age all my £ went on family, beer, footy, women and drugs and I never bought any.
The memories are priceless
I bought some Oxo cubesI started this thread nearly three years ago.
So how has 2023 done for you
I bought A LOT of RR at an average of 101.16 and it’s currently about 285 - not bad for a year.
If I am honest I have been trying to work out when to sell RR and other stuff after making mistakes when selling stocks, but I believe in RR and it’s CEO - so why sell?
I don’t know where it will go but some analysts have it down for 400 next year and one has it for 600 - but seriously they don’t know anymore than me or you.
…but as ever - until you crystallise it, it’s toy money anyway!
Put simply both shares could be worth considerably more than they currently are (based on my and other research I have access to).RR went to £3.12 first thing this morning before dropping back to £2.97 before lunch!
Seasideone, can I ask why you`re considering buying into Marstons and SFM (from your list)? Thanks.
Ps - the stock market can remain irrational a lot longer than most can stay liquid!Put simply both shares could be worth considerably more than they currently are (based on my and other research I have access to).
Please note I could be very wrong and I have not bought either yet.
Do your own research, as i do not offer financial advice
At one time shareholders redeliver a 30% discount on food and drinks .RR went to £3.12 first thing this morning before dropping back to £2.97 before lunch!

Haha fair. I'm the opposite, almost all crypto apart from stuff work give chuck my way. My crypto is up 104% YoY.I don’t do Crypto as I think it’s a con and doomed long term - I also don’t understand it really - I only invest in companies I understand and are simple to explain.
I bought carnival last year as they were stupidly low they have more than doubled now and also had £600 on board credit back so far you get 150 for every 2 week cruiseAt one time shareholders redeliver a 30% discount on food and drinks .
Stopped it just after lockdown.
I have held both Marstons and Easyjet for over 5 years and at a loss if I sell.
I have Carnival shares and if you are a regular Cruiser with the likes of Cunard, P& O and several others then as shareholder receive $250 credit every Cruise. Worth buying before the recovery.
Seasideone and all,There is no doubt the FTSE is showing value, and hopefully now BREXIT is sorted and COVID maybe - it will benefit massively.
Think we are in for a bumpy ride though for the next few weeks with the markets.
Have a look at interactive investor website.Seasideone and all,
I was looking at buying shares in a couple of cruise companies as I’ve just done a few cruises and may do more in the future.
I don’t intend buying and selling regularly.
Any ideas how best to do this? Should I just use an online app like erore, 212, xtb, cmc or similar?
I’m a total novice.
Cheers
